The Pitt State men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams will travel to Joplin, Mo., Friday and Saturday (Jan. 27-28) to compete in the Missouri Southern Radio Shack Invitational.

Rico Pierrevilus led the balanced Pitt State scoring attack with a game-high 18 points off the bench as the Gorillas claimed a 73-56 victory over Truman State Wednesday (Jan. 25) at John Lance Arena.

The Gorilla women’s basketball team (17-2,11-1) turned in an impressive effort in the second half to erase a big halftime deficit to defeat Truman State 73-68 in John Lance Arena on Wednesday (Jan. 25).
Gorilla Women Play One at Home and One on the Road This Week
The No. 16 Gorillas begin the week with a home matchup against the Truman State Bulldogs. Pittsburg State defeated Truman 79-78 earlier this season in Kirksville. The team continues MIAA action Saturday as they travel to Warrensburg, Mo. to take on the Jennies.

The Pitt State men’s basketball team will return to the friendly confines of John Lance Arena Wednesday (Jan. 25) for an MIAA match-up against Truman. The two teams will face one another at 7:30 p.m. (CST).
Fans Encouraged to Wear Suits & Sneakers for Men's Basketball Game Wednesday
All fans are encouraged to wear dress clothes (suits, slacks, skirts or dresses) along with their favorite tennis shoes as the Gorilla men take on Truman at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25 in John Lance Arena.
Gorillas Host 2011 Football Team Awards Banquet
The Pittsburg State University football team hosted its 2011 Team Awards Banquet Saturday evening (Jan. 22). The event capped a festive day in Pittsburg after the Gorillas were honored with a lengthy downtown parade early in the afternoon.
